6 Misconceptions about meditation that you have to know to avoid lies?

1. Meditation is not thoughts there have been numerous companies preaching this notion and they are lying. Thoughts must come to cease in order to be meditating.


2. Time is not a factor of meditation because time is not real in the sense that it has only a conceptual application.


3. Meditation is not projection and it has nothing to do with materialism. A mind which is materialistic can never meditate. This is against developing the attention span.


4. An app cannot make you meditate and it only makes it worse.


5. Just because you have a mind that is filled with thoughts does not mean that because you took some time away by being distracted with music or some mantras at your yoga studio makes this slight alleviation of stress a meditative state.


6. Placing your hands in the position in the main photo is useless. There is no need to do that. It is mostly a superficial preference often associated with the image of meditation and not the actual act. Instead place your hand in a neutral position over each other by your groin area. This will aid in oscillation of energy through the body should you get that far.
